Black River Technical College is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated person to serve as the Executive Director of Workforce Training. This position works under the supervision of the President and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. This is a full time, 12-month position primarily housed in Pocahontas, but responsible for the entire service area of the college.
The primary responsibility of the Executive Director of Workforce Training is to work with the President to provide strategic vision for workforce and professional skills training programming that aligns with regional economic shifts. The Executive Director acts as the external enterprise sales engine, securing corporate training commitments and high-level regional workforce partnerships. This position designs custom agreements, negotiates profit margins, and manages executive employer relations. This position supervises and directs the workforce team in all aspects of training, delivery, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Direct all aspects of workforce training for our service area including program and course development for the training requests of local industry and the local community.
- Oversee development of workforce training adjunct faculty contracts and evaluate performance reviews.
- Responsible for guiding curriculum development for new professional skills training programs
- Oversee development of the departmental budget, including analysis of forecasted revenue and expenditures to determine profit margins.
- Review information to be submitted to Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
- Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet
- Direct the development of MOUs to partner with local industries for professional skills training
- Serve as a voting college representative on the board of the Greene County Industrial Training Consortium.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited University.
- Related experience in workforce training delivery, and leadership or management experience in higher education administration or industry, with increasing levels of responsibility in all or most of the following areas:
- development of collaborative training partnerships with industry,
- program and curriculum development and delivery,
- budget development and administration,
- strategic planning, and
- economic development.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Valid Arkansas Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited University.
- Teaching experience and working knowledge of the most current methods of successful delivery of training programs
- Community college administrative experience.
