Black River Technical College (BRTC) LPN-to-RN Transitional pathway students recently spent a weekend doing their required pediatric clinical rotations at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock.
During their time at ACH, students had the opportunity to observe a variety of pediatric nursing specialties. Students got the chance to put their skills into practice with real patients, building on the strong simulation training they receive on campus. They also learned about ACH’s Angel One helicopter and got to meet with a flight crew.
The Licensed-Practical-Nurse-to-Registered-Nurse (LPN-to-RN) Transitional pathway is a 12-month program that offers LPNs/LVNs the chance to complete their RN degree without retaking PN courses. It enables working LPNs/LVNs to complete their coursework on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with clinical requirements occurring on weekends and occasional weekdays. The LPN-to-RN Transitional pathway program only offers Spring admissions.
