Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) Director Jared Bassham has retired from Black River Technical College (BRTC) after 20 years of service.

“Director Bassham provided exemplary leadership for the Law Enforcement Training Academy as BRTC for several years,” Vice President of Academic Affairs Brad Baine said. “While we will dearly miss Jared, we wish him the best on the next stage of his career.”

Bassham was promoted to director in July of 2022. Prior to director, he was employed as BRTC’s LETA for 16 years as an instructor. Before BRTC, he worked at the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office as a criminal investigator.

LETA Instructor Mark Mosier will serve as Interim Director of the Law Enforcement Training Academy until the new director is selected.
