The Black River Technical College Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Nursing Student Testing and Licensing Support Fund at Black River Technical College. The fund was started by PlanGuide Financial to help BRTC nursing students cover the costs of testing and licensing as they prepare to enter the workforce.
PlanGuide Financial has donated a one-time total amount of $1,500 for the fund. The money will be distributed through five $300 awards. Each award includes $200 towards testing fees and $100 towards licensing fees. BRTC nursing faculty will nominate students who need help covering these costs.
Testing and licensing are required steps for graduates entering the nursing profession, and they can be a financial hurdle at the end of a demanding program. The fund will help nursing students at BRTC cross the finish line and begin their careers.
The BRTC Foundation exists solely to provide resources to further the academic programs and activities of BRTC. The Foundation’s mission is to assist with the development and enhancement of programs and facilities; to assist in providing broader educational opportunities and services to students, staff, and alumni; and to receive, hold, and administer gifts or grants.
