Brown Accepts Leave A Legacy Scholarship

Black River Technical College (BRTC) has awarded Valerie Brown of Paragould the Leave A Legacy Scholarship.

Brown is a 2016 graduate and is seeking a degree in nursing. She is married to Tracon Brown.

The Leave a Legacy Scholarship was founded by the May 2015 Practical Nursing class, who had a goal to leave a legacy for future nursing students at BRTC. They saw the financial hardships nursing students face during the last semester of the nursing program due to licensure fees, and decided to form the scholarship to help offset the cost of the fees. Each graduating class has continued the legacy through fundraising activities and continued donations to the scholarship.

Congratulations, Valerie!
